How to Be a Healthier Teenage Girl the Easy Way

Are you a teenage girl? Want to become healthier? Being healthier means better skin (less zits!), and being at a healthy weight.

Steps

  • Don't eat any desserts. The only exceptions are fruit, and unsweetened apple sauce. Once in a while you can add a very small amount of whipped cream to your fruit as a treat.
  • Don't eat candy, especially chocolate. Candy is full of sugar, which turns to fat. Chocolate has sugar and a lot of fat. If you must have candy once in a while, you can have a lollipop since they have no fat (except for the sugar) and they last a long time. Another option is to eat a candy cane.
  • Don't eat anything fried. Fried foods are almost 100% fat. The fat goes straight to your skin, and then makes you fat and gives you zits. It's not the only reason you get zits, but it's part of it. If it's greasy, don't eat it.
  • You can eat meat if you want, but not the fat parts, and in small amounts.
  • Don't eat fast food. If you have to eat fast food, get a salad and don't have anything fried in it (such as noodles), don't put dressing on it (or ask for dressing on the side and put a SMALL amount on your salad if it's too dry), or eat fruit with low fat/fat free yogurt or a fruit salad. You can also get the Apple Dippers from McDonald's and have a small amount of low fat caramel dip with your apples. Apple Dippers are apple slices without skin, so you can eat them if you have braces (just be careful with the caramel dip)!
  • Lean Cuisines are good for lunch or dinner. You can get them in the freezer aisle.
  • If you really want ice cream, eat a Skinny Cow Truffles bar. It's a 100 calorie bar with 2.5 grams of fat. It's chocolate ice cream with chocolate drizzled all over. Or you can have a low fat Fudgsicle. But only once in a while!
  • Excersise. If you can, join an after school sport such as cheerleading or softball. If you live in an apartment, see if there's a gym downstairs where you can use the treadmill. You can also take a walk or ride your bike.
  • Drink plenty of water. You can squeeze lemons in it if you want, and if you want lemonade you can add a packet or two of Splenda.
  • Eat small portions at dinner and lunch.
  • Eat lots of fruit. Fruit makes a good snack. Grab an apple or a banana if you get hungry.
  • Eat your veggies!
  • Limit dressing. Dressing usually has fat.

Tips

  • You may not see results right away. Weigh yourself once every week, in the morning before you eat anything, and write it down on a sticky note by the scale.
  • You can eat junk once in a while once you weigh what you want, but not every day. Remember: the less junk you eat, the healthier you will be!
  • You won't only lose weight and fat, but you will also get less zits, better skin, and have more energy! You will look and feel better!
  • Also be sure to excersise your brain. Do well in school and try your hardest.

  • Always have adult supervision when using the treadmill.
  • Do not become aneorexic.
  • Do not go on any extreme diets.
