How to Train a Hamster
This simple guide, will teach YOU, how to train your hamster tricks!
Steps
- Get to know your hamster, and make sure he/she 's friendly with you
- To bond a relationship with your hamster you need to trust eachother. If the hamster trusts you then it will be a doddle to train.
- Open your hamster's cage, and get some of her/his favorite treats. Uncooked and unprocessed nuts are a great selection.
- When your hamster's awake, take him/her out of the cage. Slowly stroke your furry friend to make him realise you are there.
- Now here are some tricks you and your hamster can learn together:
- Stand: How to do this trick: Hold his/her favorite treat above your hamster, and keep on saying "Stand". Let your hamster take the treat, and get another treat and do it again.
- Follow: How to do this trick: Get your hamster's favorite treat, and hold it where you want him/her to go, and keep on saying "Follow". Give your hamster the treat, and keep on doing it.
Tips
- You and your Hamster need to Bond.
- These tricks take time.
- Frequently give them treats, this incourages them to be tame.
- If your hamster grows tired, let them rest, otherwise your hamster may be unaware of the tricks he/she is learning, and they will go in one ear and out the other.
Warnings
- If you get impatient, and angry your hamster will get upset, as Hamster's can sense people's feelings.
- Don't do this training too often, as your Hamster would get unhealthy.
- Don't train to frequently this can tire out your furry friend.
Things You'll Need
- Tasty Treats.
- Energetic hamster.
- An hamster safe area/play pen.
